Well this is my first entry and I dont even know where to start. Guess Ill start at the beginning. Four and a half years ago my family and i finally got our dream farm. Originally I wanted to own riding horses again as I grew up riding horses. After alot of thought though i decided my almost 40 year old butt didnt need to be on a 1200 lb animal. 40 year old bones just dont bounce like 14 year bones. I ran across an article on the internet about miniature horses. I was so intrigued and my husband thought I had lost my mind. I researched for months. It just felt "right"
I bought my first miniature horse and 5 days before we were supposed to pick her up (a mare in foal) our barn burned to the ground. We made a makeshift spot for her in the corn crib and went and got her. She gave us our first miniature horse foal that we named Baxters Tiny Rocket Dancer. I feel immediately in love. Tiny got off to a rough start (she was a fainting foal) but is now 3 years old and so beautiful she takes my breath away. We have shown her since she was a yearling and she always gets the ribbon even being shown by someone new like me. She is pictured here as a foal.
Now its 3.5 years later. We now own 9 miniature horses and 3 shetland/mini horses. We also have our beloved border collies that we have occassional litters out of. And i cant leave out Frannie. The worlds ugliest Llama im sure but we love her :) she has a horrible bite but people are just fascinated when they come here just watching her. They have a very odd way of moving.
