So sorry for not keeping the blog up! Dancer foaled unexpectedly on Monday around noon out in the pasture.   Thank goodness we found him about 5-10 minutes after he foaled as it was very cold out.   Unfortunately Bailey stole the foal from Dancer once it was born.  By the time we got him to a stall Dancer was semi rejecting him and the cold temps had put him in a "dummy foal" state. 



We fed him by bottle every two hours and kept encouraging him to nurse from Dancer and for Dancer to accept him back.   Finally by 3:00 am the two bonded and the foal started nursing and was taken off the bottle



Hes a beautiful silver dapple pinto foal!! We are so happy with our stallion Blacks first foal!

Soon we will be moving dancer and the foal out and putting either Bailey or Star on cam.  Star is due April 14th and Bailey is due April 18th.
